Choosing music for my opening sequence
After listening to the music from the opening sequences of existing horror movies, I have a clear idea of the kind of music that I would like to find.
The music must be slow as its main purpose is to build suspense. I should also have an ominous tone as it signifies the genre of the movie to the audience and adds to the suspense that something terrible is going to happen.
The music should also start slow and then build towards the climax and end of the opening sequence.
Below is where I found the song that I am going to use in my opening sequence.
However, this video is over three hours long and there was only a part of it that I thought fit with my opening sequence as well as only needing about three minutes of music.
I chose my favourite part of this soundtrack that I thought best fitted my opening sequence and cut it down so that it was a much shorter audio clip which would make edditting far easier as I would not have to deal with a three hour clip. I have embedded the part of the soundtrack that I have chosen to use below.
