Horror movie research

• I am going to produce an opening sequence for a horror movie.

• Opening sequences of horror movies generally have a clear narrative. The narrative is always introduced through a variety of elements, for example mise-en scene. 

• An example of this is the opening scene of 'IT'

• Opening scenes of movies are an attempt to introduce the location, main characters and the overarching themes,

• Perhaps the most important aspect to be introduced at the start of a film is the location as this sets the tone for all of the following scenes.
